About The Position

The Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in managing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions within the organization. This position involves processing invoices, handling cash payments, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The specialist will also be responsible for resolving discrepancies and maintaining financial records, contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounting department.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar accounting position.
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test.
  • Current and valid US driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in accounts receivable duties including invoicing and cash payment processing.
  • Handle accounts payable duties such as receiving and processing invoices and collections.
  • Create and distribute packing slips for ship direct invoices.
  • Match receiving documents with invoices.
  • Enter invoices to be paid and research discrepancies between receiving and invoices.
  • Resolve issues on the Accrued Payables Report.
  • Check statements for past dues and investigate discrepancies.
  • Request corporate credit card receipts and enter the credit card information online.
  • Scan receipts and expenses to corporate.
  • Prepare, request, and distribute second tier lien waivers.
  • Respond to email and telephone inquiries concerning accounts payable.
  • Facilitate RGA's/back charges/supplier returns.
  • Process customer returns on miscellaneous sales orders.
  • Maintain and reconcile deposits daily.
  • Assist in quarterly and annual closeouts of the accounting periods.
  • Perform other relative duties as assigned.
