About The Position

CLA is currently seeking an Accounting Senior with experience, to join our CAAS (Nonprofit Industry) group in our Minneapolis, MN office. The position involves developing an understanding of each client’s business operations, managing multiple clients, and processing various financial transactions. Responsibilities include coordinating accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions, as well as preparing financial statements and account reconciliations. The role also involves overseeing the workflow and quality of work of Associates and Analysts, and assisting with special projects such as internal audits and system selections.

Requirements

  • 2 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

  • Develops an understanding of each client’s business/organization operations.
  • Manages multiple clients, software, and chart of accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Leads coordination and processing of accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and payroll transactions.
  • Coordinates and reviews account reconciliations including prepaids, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, and accruals.
  • Completes complex account reconciliations and prepares financial statements.
  • Reviews general ledger, cashflow, allocations, etc.
  • Creates process and procedure documentation.
  • Completes sales tax returns and Form 1099s.
  • Prepares audit workpapers, tax return workpapers, and other forms as requested by clients.
  • Oversees workflow and quality of work of Associates and Analysts.
  • Assists with projects for internal audit, due diligence, system selection, and other consultative projects.
