About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Operations Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and has strong analytical and reconciliation skills. You will play a key role in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and supporting internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles.
  • Proficient in 10-key data entry.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and escalate significant issues as needed.
  • Manage department work queues for emails, calls, and reports; respond within authority level.
  • Communicate with internal and external parties to gather and verify information, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on inquiries.
  • Generate, review, and distribute reports; investigate errors and escalate significant issues.
  • Reconcile information with supporting documents; ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform monthly, routine, and special project work related to business unit activities.
  • Provide training, project support, and back-up assistance to team members.
  • Process activations and incoming payments via Lockbox or EFT.
  • Prepare deposits, journal entries, and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Work with lenders on servicing-related issues and provide education as needed.
  • Handle servicing transfers and validate documentation accuracy.
  • Process policy cancellations, coverage rescissions, and special handling requests.
  • Review documentation for completeness and compliance.
  • Contact customers for required backup information or premium resolution.
