The Sapphire Senior General Ledger Accountant is responsible for full-cycle general accounting and reporting. This position will also be accountable for the accurate and timely monthly full cycle closing and reporting, including bank account reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations, including prepaid, AP accruals, and others. This position supports the development of accounting and reporting processes and procedures. Utilize accounting and systems knowledge to improve projects' operational and financial effectiveness for this growing company.

Requirements

Bachelors in Accounting.
3-5 years as a senior accountant or accounting manager.
Full understanding of accounting principles and month-end closing procedures.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and advanced knowledge of Excel is a plus.
Experience with MS Dynamics products including designing work processes and procedures, implementing new modules, and training operational personnel strongly preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain an organized and efficient workflow.

Responsibilities

Manage and own month-end closing process for various legal entities, with detailed reporting on trial balances and financial statements.
Assist with preparation of financial materials for periodic meetings as needed.
Own daily accounting, month-end close process, and internal control environment
Perform daily/weekly bank activity and reconcile bank transactions to the cash sub-ledger weekly for transactions within ERP and bank ledgers.
Prepare, document, and review all account reconciliations.
Develop financial statements, P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Manage & support all phases of general accounting (Cash, A/R, A/P, Capex & GL) including: Cash and Bank Reconciliations, Audit support, Month-end, and Year-end processes.
Invoicing reconciliation and cut-offs.
Accounts payable transactions, All account reconciliations
Expense Reporting from Concur, Expense Accruals, and Departmental expenses.
Payroll entries, Cash application reviews
Accounting policies and procedures
Maintain ethical and professional business practices in day-to-day activities.
Maintain proper sales tax compliance and reporting to various state entities, using third-party services as needed.
Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
Develop and maintain robust closing process checklists and timelines, including data and systems integrations.
Manage intercompany consolidations and eliminations.
Leverage system capabilities and understand systems data flows, including MS Dynamics, Concur, Paycom, Jet Reporting tools, and Power BI.
Perform other duties as assigned.
