GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Oversees and manages the general accounting and reporting functions Hybrid Schedule- In Office- 2-3 days a week

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting or related field strongly preferred
  • Minimum three years of experience in progressive accounting positions, including some experience in managing elements of the function
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations
  • Experience in working with accounting software and databases
  • Strong data management and data analysis skills
  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on accuracy
  • MIP proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Oversee monthly general accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare monthly departmental budget versus actual financial statements
  • Develop and maintain accounting processes, procedures and best practices
  • Prepare and enter monthly journal entries for allocations, pre-paid expenses
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare, review, and communicate ad hoc reporting as needed
  • Assist with completing of periodic grant reporting
  • Supervision of AP and AR staff and processes
  • Manage year-end financial audit and corporate tax return preparations with external auditors
  • Assist SVP Finance and IT as requested
  • Special projects as requested
  • Additional duties as assigned
