About The Position

The Accounting Manager plays a key role in supporting the Director of Finance in overseeing the financial operations of the hotel. This position is responsible for safeguarding company assets, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and preparing accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with corporate standards. The Accounting Manager also provides leadership within the department, supports cross -functional collaboration, and ensures that accounting practices align with operational and regulatory requirements. <\/div> Support the Director of Finance in managing the hotel’s financial activities and ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory standards <\/p><\/li> Oversee daily accounting operations and be capable of performing all accounting functions when necessary <\/p><\/li> Assist in scheduling and supervising accounting associates, including Night Audit staff <\/p><\/li> Establish departmental training priorities and develop team members across multiple accounting functions <\/p><\/li> Communicate effectively with supervisors, associates, guests, vendors, and other departments <\/p><\/li> Promote teamwork and foster strong interdepartmental relationships throughout the property <\/p><\/li> Interview, hire, train, evaluate, and coach associates while ensuring fair and consistent disciplinary practices <\/p><\/li> Produce timely financial statements for hotel management and corporate reporting requirements <\/p><\/li> Ensure compliance with Finance SOP manuals and participate in asset inventory processes <\/p><\/li> Maintain records in accordance with government retention requirements <\/p><\/li> Prepare and manage sales tax returns and other applicable tax liabilities <\/p><\/li> Oversee all Accounts Receivable functions, including collections, credit card verification, and timely cash deposits <\/p><\/li> Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and review adjusting entries to the general ledger <\/p><\/li> Support the Controller with special projects and additional finance -related initiatives as needed <\/p><\/li> Maintain regular attendance and perform additional job -related duties as assigned <\/p><\/li><\/ul> <\/p>

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Hotel Management
  • At least one year of experience in hotel or hospitality finance and accounting
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Sound administrative and managerial capabilities
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure
  • Proficient in training, coaching, and counseling associates
  • Working knowledge of hotel operations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • Diploma/Titulo on hand.
  • Valid Mexican or Canadian passport with 1 year validity.
  • At least 80% English.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Ability to move to the U.S.
  • No previous immigration issues.
