Join DATAMARK as an Accounting Manager and contribute your expertise in a role where your impact truly matters! The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounting Manager supervises accounting personnel and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation. Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the accounting, reporting and general ledger structure and requirements for a given set of books. Ensure all accounting (AP, AR, FA, GL, etc.) activities are completed in accurate and timely manner. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close. As well as the timely reporting of all monthly financial information. Assist the Controller in the daily banking requirements. Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner. Manages company credit card and travel activities. Reviews and approves balance sheet reconciliations performed by direct reports. Prepares and maintenance other balance sheet reconciliations as applicable. Support Payroll / AP accountant and AR / FA Accountant to ensure timely and accurate completion of their activities. Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine accounting and reporting transactions. Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy. The Accounting Manager will provide training to new and existing staff as needed. Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff. Responds to inquiries from the Controller and firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like. Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit and preparation of and coordination of filings, statutory requirements and schedules. Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department. Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.

Requirements

  • BBA - Accounting
  • Minimum five years’ accounting experience with a minimum of three years in a supervisory position.
  • Must have direct experience with payroll, account payable, accounts receivables, tax reporting, and financial statement preparation.
  • The Accounting Manager will have excellent analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage and meet deadlines
  • Process oriented, understanding of internal controls.
  • Team and customer service oriented.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, customers and vendors. (written/oral)
  • Computer literate and proficient knowledge of Excel and Microsoft office
  • Ability to manage and develop a semi-professional team to achieve a high level of quality and results.
  • Able to manage multiple-tasks and projects
  • At times, must be willing to be “hands-on” to accomplish the workload.
  • Must have a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Must be able to work in a highly automated environment.
