Accounting Manager JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the accounting function and financial reporting operations of the organization. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial records across general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. The Accounting Manager supervises accounting staff, maintains strong internal controls, and partners with Finance and Operations leadership to support organizational goals and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate brings deep technical accounting knowledge, strong leadership capabilities, and experience in healthcare or PACE environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required; 2+ years in Supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and demonstrated experience managing general ledger and accounts payable and accounting functions.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and the minimum state required liability auto insurance.
  • Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up to date before engaging in direct participant contact.
  • Employment with BoldAge PACE is contingent upon successful completion of post-offer pre-employment screening and verification processes

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification and/or MBA a plus.
  • Experience in PACE, Medicare/Medicaid, or managed care strongly preferred
  • 1 year of experience working with a frail or elderly population preferred. If this is not present, training will be provided upon hiring (If applicable for the role).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review accurate monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP; analyze results against budget and forecasts.
  • Manage financial projections, outlooks, and required governmental reporting.
  • Oversee monthly close activities, including journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and roll-forward schedules.
  • Monitor accounts payable aging, cash management, bank reconciliations, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Reconcile Medicare and Medicaid capitation payments and related accounts receivable balances.
  • Monitor fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other key balance sheet accounts.
  • Support external audits, tax preparation, and ensure strong internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and develop accounting staff; establish clear expectations and accountability.
  • Partner with finance leadership on insurance renewals, financial analysis, and performance reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement, system enhancements, and adoption of best practices; support special projects as needed.
