About The Position

Mauldin & Jenkins, LLC is seeking an Account Manager for their Internal Accounting Department. We are a Top 100 CPA Firm and have been one continuous entity since 1918. Job Responsibilities Assist the Controller and Assistant Controller in all aspects of accounting; financial statements, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, budgeting, tax compliance, revenue recognition, and various special analysis Manage the financial and operational accounting activities of the firm, including monthly close process, accounts receivable and accounts payable activities. Provide support and backup to the accounting team which may include preparing, reviewing, and approving journal entries, account reconciliations and various other workpapers. Collaborate with various other departments to support overall company goals and objectives. Manage accounting processes and all transactions with a detailed set of policies and procedures Keep an organized filing system of all accounts, statements, transactions, payments, and debts Support monthly and annual financial report preparation Assist in the preparation of the annual budget(s) Comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting Additional duties as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Ideal candidate has minimum 5 years of experience in field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly intermediate Excel skills.
  • Intermediate experience with accounting system software: preferably Sage Intacct, Bill.com, CCH Practice Management, CCH Fixed Assets, DOMO Data Intelligence and Analytics, Prepaid Software system
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to continually prioritize workload and respond to top priorities in a timely manner
  • Strong analytical skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead and coach
  • Ability to work with all levels of the firm and maintain confidentiality
  • Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
  • Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
  • Attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license preferred, but not required
