About The Position

The Accounting Manager supports the Controller in completing the accounting functions of SGA Dental Partners that culminate in the preparation and presentation of timely and accurate internal/external reports and financial statements. Complies with GAAP requirements and is responsible for the general accounting, audit, and tax accounting functions. This is a full time, in person opportunity at our headquarters in Richmond Hill, GA

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of English composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Skilled in the use of office equipment & computer software.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate and express thoughts and ideas clearly and competently.
  • Ability to quickly grasp relevant concepts regarding duties and responsibilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles (corporate accounting preferred)
  • Prior Management experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Sage Intacct (Preferred)
  • General ledger and month-end close experience (Preferred)
  • Experience working in a multi-entity corporate environment (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the monthly financial close process to include preparation of month-end financial statements including balance sheet, income statements, and various ad hoc reports.
  • Create monthly journal entries, reports, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Lead the year-end physical inventory count effort, research variances, and book to the GL.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate the accounting team.
  • Recommend and implement accounting process and procedure improvements.
  • Implement and enforce internal accounting controls that minimize financial risk and ensure accounting accuracy.
  • Support the controller in planning, organizing, and coordinating the annual audit with external auditors, provide financial information as required.
  • Proactively identify potentially adverse finance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filing.
  • Ad-hoc analysis as required by management for decision making, primarily using Excel.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with management and staff identifying and developing solutions to a full range of business issues.
  • Assists in the financial integration and related accounting of acquisitions.
  • Support the controller in maintaining and improving utilization of the Sage Intacct accounting system.
