About The Position

CLASS LTD is hiring an Accounting Manager to oversee daily financial operations, ensure Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) accounting compliance, and manage budgets while supporting the mission of CLASS through accurate fiscal management, internal controls, and analysis for Leadership. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with a major in accounting or finance, with experience using Blackbaud, or equivalent, accounting software. The candidate will need working knowledge of GAAP, good oral and written communication skills, experience with spreadsheets and basic computer programs (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.), and good analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with major in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of two years in Accounting or Finance
  • Maintain current and valid driver's license of the state of residence and be determined as an "insurable driver" by State of Kansas and the automobile insurance carrier for CLASS
  • Comply with all federal, state and local laws regarding communicable and infectious diseases and CLASS policies, rules and practices regarding medical examination or immunizations
  • No records of convictions, administrative findings or history of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children or adults unable to protect their own interest, and conviction of other crimes, including, but not limited to crimes against persons, sex crimes, crimes against property, violation of personal rights, public safety, public morals, or any crimes that would be classified in Kansas as a felony or deemed unacceptable for employment with CLASS
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and all others with whom contact is made
  • Compose written material as required for reports, financial records, budget proposal, etc.
  • Works and honors commitments to participate as an effective member on team(s) i.e. specialty team, etc., to which assigned
  • Accomplishes the Performance Improvement Objectives agreed upon at the previous Performance Evaluation
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, advocates, parents, guardians, and other customers
  • Ability to ensure accounting records are maintained in professional manner for efficient audits
  • Provide accounting analysis and conduct special accounting/budget projects as needed
  • Ability to assist with the preparation of the monthly financial statements and completion of month-end and year-end processes
  • Ability to maintain the general ledger
  • Complete required tasks in relation to data entry into Blackbaud software for financial tracking and reporting
  • Complete and maintain journal entries
  • Complete bank reconciliations
  • Assist with budget preparation
  • Tracks and completes necessary reports for Community Grants and CDDO budgets
  • Provides input into applicable policies and procedures and applies to areas of responsibility
  • Provide back-up for all accounting staff
  • Complete other tasks or projects as assigned by supervisor
  • Comply with CLASS policies and procedures
  • Completes required annual in-service training/certification
