About The Position

Our client is an outstanding professional services company located in the Miami area. They are leaning on us to help them identify an Accounting Manager who has experience with a real estate company and aspirations to grow in their career. The Accounting Manager will oversee one Accountant. This role offers significant room for growth and broad exposure across the USA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing general accounting functions and month-end close. As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger accounts.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee general accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, treasury, asset management, and taxes.
  • Ensure the integrity of the general ledger accounts by verifying consistent use of P&L accounts and substantiating all balance sheet account balances.
  • Close the books accurately and timely by reviewing activity prior to close, ensuring all accounting tasks are completed, and leading monthly accounts and balance sheet reviews after close with the Finance Director.
  • Manage and develop accounting staff, setting goals and providing training as needed.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with departments impacting financial statements to ensure proper financial capture and understanding of business initiatives.
  • Serve as a key financial consultant for various business departments.
  • Maintain sufficient provisions or allowances for obligations including returns, inventories, receivables, deferred rent, and warranties.
  • Implement and streamline process improvements and procedures.
