About The Position

Command Post Technologies, Inc. (CPT) is seeking an experienced, full-time Accounting Manager in the Columbus, OH, area. The Accounting Manager role is responsible for coordinating daily financial activities, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and managing accounting staff. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining accounting systems, procedures, and policies to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective internal controls. The Accounting Manager works closely with executive leadership, project managers, and external auditors to support the organization’s financial health and contractual obligations. This position will report to our Director of Finance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Five or more years’ experience in accounting and financial management
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), budgeting, cost control principles, and financial reporting
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Unanet
  • Defense government contracting experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with DCAA compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated process improvement and problem-solving experience

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track financial status for projects and subcontractors
  • Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements and reports
  • Develop and monitor monthly and annual budgets and forecasts
  • Support internal and external audits and respond to audit inquiries
  • Ensure compliance in accordance with GAAP and DCAA regulations
  • Develop monthly contract financial reports for leadership review
  • Manage facility leases, insurance policies, and vendor agreements
  • Administer 401(k) plans and ensure compliance requirements are met
  • Perform general ledger entries and department reconciliations in Unanet
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff
  • Develop, implement, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Identify areas for process improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Other duties as identified
