About The Position

We are seeking an ownership-driven Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for a Sr Accountant ready to step into leadership, with 2-3 years of supervisory or team lead experience. You will own the month-end close, balance sheet integrity, and audit readiness, ensuring accurate, timely, and audit-ready financials. You will also make day-to-day accounting decisions, escalating complex or technical matters as needed. This role is critical to building a high-performing, reliable accounting operation that runs with consistency and minimal oversight, while supporting the company’s continued growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field with significant accounting coursework.
  • 5–8+ years of accounting experience.
  • 2–3 years of supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Hands-on ownership of month-end close and general ledger accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting.
  • Experience with reconciliations, audit support, and financial reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in consumer packaged goods is beneficial.
  • Experience with NAV and Business Central systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring completion by Day 5.
  • Review journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain a clean, well-supported general ledger.
  • Ensure balance sheet integrity, including timely completion of reconciliations and resolution of reconciling items.
  • Lead audit preparation and PBC coordination.
  • Partner on audit execution and ensure strong internal controls and audit-ready documentation.
  • Supervise and review work of accounting team members.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and accountability.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Help drive system transitions and expense management system implementation.
  • Identify and drive process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Oversee key accounting areas for inventory, deductions/trade spend, and outsourced order-to-cash processes.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Oversee payroll administration and ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations.
  • Process payroll adjustments such as bonuses, commissions, overtime, and reimbursements.
  • Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and reporting.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax-related questions.
  • Support audits by providing payroll documentation and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
  • Implement and maintain payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
