About The Position

The Accounting Manager is a critical role, accountable for the financial integrity, technical accuracy, and strategic compliance of a large manufacturing business unit within Celestica. This role will serve as the subject matter expert on the business unit’s the month- end, financial reporting and internal control activities, ensuring all financial reporting adheres strictly to GAAP and is supported by a robust internal control framework.Key Responsibilities & Executive Impact1. Technical Authority and Reporting Excellence Financial Statement Ownership: Direct the preparation, review, and strategic interpretation of complex monthly and quarterly financial statements for internal and external purposes, ensuring compliance with GAAP. Principal Consultation: Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing authoritative, first-line support to business unit financial teams on complex technical accounting standards and challenging reporting issues. Policy Mandate: Draft, finalize, and enforce corporate accounting policies across the site/region/business unit, clearly communicating the implications of legal versus management reporting to senior stakeholders. Risk Mitigation: Own the implementation and monitoring of a comprehensive internal control environment (e.g., SOX compliance), ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded and company assets are protected. 2. Strategic Cross-Functional Partnership Executive Influence: Build and maintain critical cross-functional relationships across Operations and FP&A, and senior management, using persuasion and tact to gain support on financial initiatives and enforce policy adherence. Audit & External Relations: Support and manage the necessary inputs for external and internal audit processes, ensuring all required financial reporting and documentation meet the highest professional standards. Budgetary Input: Develop and provide critical financial data for department budgets and goals, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to maintain integrity and compliance.

Requirements

  • Accounting Mastery: In-depth, expert knowledge and practical experience in applying GAAP within a manufacturing entity
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid grasp of the application of accounting principles to manufacturing operations
  • Global Business Acumen: Strong understanding of the global business environment and the financial implications of the customer and supplier ecosystem.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills required to influence peers, interface with senior managers, and manage critical external relationships.
  • Problem Resolution: Ability to apply expert knowledge and precedents to solve complex financial and procedural problems autonomously.
  • SAP experience preferred with manufacturing and material management activities accounting set up, tracking and reporting.
  • 7+ years of progressive, relevant experience, including significant management or leadership responsibilitywithin an Accounting or Financial Reporting function.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Duties are primarily performed in an office environment.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
