About The Position

The Accounting Manager is responsible for analyzing costs, increasing profitability, and ensuring financial stability for the organization. This is a key hands-on role reporting to the owner of the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum experience of 6 years in accounting
  • Management experience required
  • Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness
  • Highly motivated, very detailed, and service-oriented with a proven track record
  • Strong communicator with positive attitude
  • Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Well-versed with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks
  • Experience with AP, AR, GL, payroll, and HR
  • Experience with Paylocity strongly preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
  • Experience implementing ERP systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the accounting and front office operations
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries, and perform monthly financial closing and reporting
  • In-depth reconciliation of vendor statements
  • Oversee Accounts Payable & Receivable functions, as well as General Ledger and Journal Entries
  • Perform full-cycle payroll processing through Paylocity, including timecard review, earnings and deduction updates, payroll submission, and payroll reporting
  • Maintain employee records in Paylocity, ensuring accuracy of demographic, tax, and compensation information
  • Monitor and address daily HR inquiries, supporting employees with questions regarding benefits, policies, and procedures
  • Manage HR compliance tasks such as I-9 verification, personnel file maintenance, and policy acknowledgement tracking
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and communication with brokers/vendors
  • Bank transactions, accounting, and reconciliations
  • Manage HR requests (internal and external)
  • Weekly bank balance reporting
  • Perform month and year-end closing, reporting, inventory adjustments and auditing
  • Oversee new hire onboarding / employee termination process, including system setup and exit documentation
  • Provide support and reporting to ownership of the company
  • Analyze and provide cost-saving initiatives throughout the organization
  • Manage front office employees
