About The Position

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager who will oversee critical accounting operations. This role is responsible for managing the month-end close, supporting audits, overseeing grant accounting and compliance, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, non-profit experience, and hands-on expertise with Dynamics GP (Great Plains).

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Non-profit accounting experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit accounting standards
Proven experience with: Month-end close
Proven experience with: Journal entries and accruals
Proven experience with: Bank and investment reconciliations
Proven experience with: Grant accounting and compliance
Proven experience with: Audit preparation and support
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

Manage and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, including bank and investment accounts
Produce and analyze financial statements and internal financial reports
Lead grant accounting, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and reporting standards
Support external audits and serve as a key contact for auditors
Oversee and review accounts payable transactions and controls
Assist with and support payroll processing, including coordination with HR and payroll vendors
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies
Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and reporting support
Utilize and maintain accounting systems, including Dynamics GP (Great Plains)
