We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join the fast-growing FirstCall Mechanical Team. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills, as well as a high level of customer service.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
• Deep understanding of the financial close process, including the preparationof journal entries, reconciliation schedules and financial statement package
• Experience in financial operations, including A/R, A/P, treasury, payroll and state and local tax compliance
• Great written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced computer skills and ability to quickly learn and adopt new software tools, experience with accounting software
• High degree of professionalism and strong sense of ownership and pride in your work

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of SAGE Intacct, a plus
• Background in trades environment: construction, electrical, HVAC, a plus
• CPA or desire to pursue CPA designation, a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Prepare financial reports for management, highlighting key performance metrics.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training and performance evaluations.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
• Work closely with project managers to monitor job costs, profitability, and contract compliance.
• Ensure accurate billing, revenue recognition, and WIP (Work in Progress) reporting.
• Conduct profitability analysis for service contracts and projects.
• Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget variances and provide actionable insights to management.
• Monitor cash flow and manage accounts receivable collections effectively.
• Prepare cash flow projections.
• Other duties as assigned
