About The Position

Position Summary: This role serves as leader and thought partner to the Controller, playing a critical role in upgrading and executing the company’s accounting operations. The Accounting Manager will drive day‑to‑day operational accounting execution while helping build scalable processes, improve systems, and team development. This position is ideal for a hands‑on leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys owning outcomes.  Position Responsibilities: Operational Accounting Leadership · Own day‑to‑day accounting operations with a strong focus on accrual-based accounting. · Lead and improve Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Balance Sheet processes, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and proper controls. · Drive the transition from bookkeeper‑focused tasks to a scalable, value-add strategic accounting function. · Manage account reconciliations and ensure balance sheet integrity. Process Improvement & Systems Optimization · Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and system optimizations. · Establish and manage clear workflows, deadlines, and accountability across the team · Partner with the Controller on department and business process upgrades Leadership & Team Development · Serve as a hands-on, collaborative leader. · Delegate work effectively while balancing execution and oversight. · Train, develop, and mentor accounting staff to elevate technical knowledge and performance. · Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and cross‑functional collaboration. Business Partnership · Act as a thought partner to the Accounting and Finance Team on operational and organizational improvements. · Support audit, compliance, and internal reporting needs as required. · Contribute to broader department strategy and execution. Leadership Style · Hands‑on, execution‑oriented leader. · Collaborative management style. · Comfortable owning outcomes while empowering others.

Requirements

  • Active CPA License
  • 2+ years of public accounting experience
  • 6+ years total accounting experience
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Strong experience with: Accrual Accounting Process Improvement and automation Delegating work Managing deadlines
  • Experience scaling or upgrading accounting functions
  • Background in improving AP, payroll, and balance sheet processes
  • Strong systems mindset
