Accounting Manager Position Summary The Accounting Manager is responsible for financial accounting, general ledger oversight, and operational accounting support for approximately 12 manufacturing facilities generating nearly $1B in revenue. Reporting into a Director of Operational Accounting, this role leads a team of accountants to deliver accurate financial reporting, meaningful operational insights, and strategic financial support to manufacturing leadership. As a key member of the Manufacturing Finance organization, the Accounting Manager promotes strong internal controls, drives continuous improvement, supports operational excellence, and contributes to the financial success and growth of the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions.
  • Self-motivated, results‑oriented, and eager to learn.
  • Demonstrated determination, accountability, and assertiveness in driving outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Own all accounting activities for assigned manufacturing locations.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate results.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP, corporate policies, and internal control requirements.
  • Act as a steward of company assets, safeguarding accuracy, compliance, and responsible financial practices.
  • Serve as the primary financial business partner to the Regional Vice President and facility operations teams.
  • Provide operational insights, financial analysis, and data-driven recommendations that improve performance.
  • Collaborate with operations to enhance processes, reduce costs, and strengthen financial outcomes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to facility leaders on financial processes and best practices.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, KPIs, and performance analytics for assigned locations.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across supported facilities.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, communicating insights to senior leadership.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, and strengthen financial systems.
  • Champion best practices within manufacturing finance and contribute to broader organizational improvement efforts.
