Requirements

  • A detail-driven accounting professional with a strong understanding of hospitality finance and operational needs.
  • Equally comfortable analyzing data and explaining it in a way that non-finance leaders can understand and act on.
  • Highly organized, deadline-focused, and committed to accuracy in all aspects of financial reporting.
  • Experienced in building strong relationships with operations teams to ensure collaboration between finance and the front lines.
  • Proficient in accounting software, PMS systems, and Microsoft Excel; experience with hotel industry systems preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role, ideally in hospitality.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or hospitality finance certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll posting, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies, GAAP standards, and brand requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans that align with operational goals.
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and accurate recording of revenues, expenses, and adjustments.
  • Oversee cash management procedures and safeguard company assets through effective internal controls.
  • Support audits (internal, external, and brand) by preparing documentation and coordinating with auditors.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including sales, occupancy, and payroll taxes.
  • Train and mentor accounting team members, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a financial resource to leadership, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
