About The Position

Our publicly traded client, headquartered in Charlotte, is seeking a driven and experienced Accounting Manager to lead their fixed/capital assets accounting team. In this role, you will manage capital asset reporting and lease accounting, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. As an Accounting Manager, you will provide leadership to a team of accountants, fostering collaboration and maintaining a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience
  • Experience with supervisory/managerial responsibilities
  • Strong Excel and analysis skills - pivot tables, vlookups, and reporting
  • Fixed Asset accounting or lease accounting experience - even minimal exposure
  • Experience interpreting contract agreements a plus
  • Must be detail-orientated with a positive attitude, excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of 3 direct reports while supporting a broader team of 10.
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with direct reports and deliver comprehensive performance reviews.
  • Review and approve asset activities to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee IFRS 16 lease accounting compliance and manage related reporting requirements.
  • Manage month-end capital asset reporting and provide insights to senior leadership.
  • Support M&A accounting activities involving capital assets.
  • Perform and oversee exception reconciliation for lease payment clearing processes.
  • Research and analyze asset activities, including salvage values and lease payments.
  • Ensure capital asset reporting is conducted accurately and on time.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders, including corporate teams, regional offices, and finance departments.
  • Address and resolve escalations related to capital assets efficiently.
  • Provide customer-focused support by handling inquiries from various departments.
  • Assist with testing and upgrades for asset management systems in SAP.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, IFRS 16 standards, and internal controls.
  • Drive process automation, system enhancements, and contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives.
