About the position

The AOC has been saving and transforming lives since its inception in 1986. The agency is the Southeast's oldest, largest, and most comprehensive AIDS Service Organization. Today, AIDS Outreach Center (AOC) began as a grassroots organization responding to the HIV epidemic. Since that time, AOC has been a leader in North Texas in the fight against HIV. Annually, 42 staff members provide services and education to over 2,000 people living with HIV and prevention services to over 3,500 people in our community. Our Mission is to serve people living with or at risk for HIV with dignity and respect. In our community, people living will with HIV receive quality care, and new infections are rare.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the accounts receivable and accounts payable staff.
  • Assist with the implementation of the organization's annual budget process, including data collection and analytics, compilation, and summary for management review.
  • Spearheads the annual single audit & financial audit process and prepares audit support documentation, and coordinates correspondence with external auditor.
  • Managing the company's financial accounts, payroll, budget, cash receipts and financial assets.
  • Oversees grant monitoring and grant site visits and prepares support documentation and coordinates correspondence with grant auditors.
  • Directs monthly-close process and ensures reports are submitted in timely manner & conducts monthly Affiliate-drill down meeting.

Requirements

  • Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Accounting, Finance, or in a job related field of study.
  • Must have 3-5 years of work related experience.
  • Must have sound understanding of fund accounting in Not-for Profit environment and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Must understand the organization's financial operations and how they work together, including grants, budget analysis, cash forecasting, payroll, and revenue analysis.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public.
  • Must possess knowledge of automated accounting systems, General Accepted Governmental Auditing Standards (GAGAS) and Governmental Single Audit Standards.
