The Accounting Manager will collaborate closely with the Controller to develop and maintain accurate accounting records and financial statements for both CCG, and Ontario-based sister company Gendon Polymer Services. This pivotal role is essential for ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and providing critical support for strategic decision-making across the organization. An effective Accounting Manager will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at collaborating with all levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • CPA or work experience equivalent.
  • 3-5+ years experience.
  • Manufacturing experience an asset.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferably Sage X3.
  • Familiarity with multi-currency transactions.
  • ADP experience an asset.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced excel formulations and macros for data management is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting tasks including payables, accruals, and receivables.
  • Ensure integrity of accounting data, including setting and maintaining controls over GL structure.
  • Compiling account reconciliations as part of monthly close process, preparing or approving entries, etc.
  • Banking management for vendors and complete check runs/wire transfers for approval.
  • Fixed asset subledger management.
  • Inventory subledger oversight with involvement in physical inventory count reconciliations.
  • Complete monthly, quarterly and year end journal entries timely for corporate close.
  • Prepare and maintain reliable account reconciliations for review and approval, with direct responsibility over all balance sheet accounts for CT-based business, and oversight for Canadian location.
  • Understand and maintain adequate documentation regarding internal control environment.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing requesting documentation timely.
  • Fill out monthly, quarterly and annual reporting forms required by parent company.
  • Provide support during the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes.
  • Collaborate interdepartmentally at both businesses to develop and track key performance metrics.
  • Understand business processes and products for financial analysis input.
  • Oversight of payroll at both businesses, recording weekly/bi-weekly journal entries and managing any reporting needs.
  • Other ad hoc reporting as required.
