About The Position

This Accounting Manager role is responsible for overseeing and performing specialized and general accounting functions for the North America Shared Services Accounting Department. This Accounting Manager role partners with colleagues within accounting, human resources, payroll, legal, and financial planning and analysis to account for employee compensation and benefits as well as North America insurance policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
  • 8 to 10 years' accounting experience, preferably in a large global consumer products organization.
  • Management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with SAP ERP system or other similar/related applications.
  • Solid working knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and routine deliverables timely and accurately.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced use of Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA and/or MBA is a plus.
  • Experience with Dayforce/Ceridian payroll system or other similar/related application is a plus.
  • Experience with managing projects and effecting process improvement is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accounting for North America compensation and benefits programs, including payroll, various bonus programs, severance, employee stock compensation programs, and health benefits.
  • Responsible for accounting for insurance policies specific to North America, including general liability, auto, workers compensation, life insurance, and other policies.
  • Provide accounting and financial insights to support partners and their decision making processes.
  • Effectively lead and motivate direct report through mentorship, coaching and development.
  • Manage and ensure daily, weekly, monthly routine tasks are completed in full, on time, and accurately.
  • Reconciliation of complex balance sheet accounts and review/approve reconciliations prepared by direct report.
  • Preparation of quarterly and year-end audit schedules related to employee compensation and benefits.
  • Preparation of quarterly and year-end disclosure schedules related to employee compensation and benefits.
  • Develop, maintain, and/or modify standard operating procedures related to the accounting for employee compensation, benefits, and insurance.
  • Execute and document monthly controls for compliance with SOX.
  • Manage project implementation guidelines and deliverables related to the compensation and benefits processes.
