The Accounting Manager is a seasoned leader, collaborative team player, and proactive problem-solver. This role supports the Controller in managing all accounting department functions, with a specific focus on overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department.

  • Supervise and review reconciliations.
  • Promptly identify and resolve issues.
  • Prepare and file regulatory reports to ensure compliance with reporting deadlines.
  • Develop and supervise accounting staff.
  • Coordinate overall department workflow.
  • Collaborate closely with both front-line and back-office staff to resolve issues.
  • Manage and oversee the processing of domestic and international wire transfers.
  • Supervise the accounts payable process, including invoice processing and payment approvals.
  • Oversee and review daily and monthly account reconciliations.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of the annual 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC forms.
  • Develop, implement and update internal controls.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
  • Ensure all accounting activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Provide assistance during bank examinations and audits.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive instructions, manuals, and policies for accounting tasks.
  • Support the Controller in compiling and completing financial reports.
  • Oversee and schedule offsite testing for critical functions.
  • Maintain up-to-date bank correspondent contact information.
  • Assist with other tasks and provide support as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • At least 2 years in a managerial role at a financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and banking operations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to train, mentor and develop team members.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to adapt, multi-task, prioritize, and produce accurate work in a timely manner.
