Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position will be responsible for day-to-day activity and Accounting projects. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and may vary by department.

Requirements

  • Interns must have a High school diploma or GED (accredited) and be pursuing a Associates/Bachelor’s degree (accredited) in a field of study relevant to the internship.
  • No prior work experience required
  • Ability to work starting mid-May- August
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize based on department and company needs
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Detail orientated and excellent problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
  • In order to travel by air or access federal property, federal law requires individuals have a REAL ID or an acceptable alternative. This position may require the successful candidate to travel by air for business reasons, or service federal property. Accordingly, successful candidates must have, or be willing to obtain, a REAL ID, or TSA approved alternative.

Nice To Haves

  • Intermediate level in Excel (pivot tables and v-lookups are standard practice)

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned Finance projects.
  • Assist Manager with Accounting Month End requirements.
  • Assist with the monthly reconciliation of various financial general ledger accounts.
  • Research credit/debit balances while reconciling accounts.
  • Initiate communication with cross functional departments to provide important analysis for business operations.
