About The Position

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Intern to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Wiremold Team in West Hartford, CT.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s from an accredited college or university studying Accounting, Finance or Business-Related field.
• Completion of one or more semesters of related coursework.
• Close attention to detail and requires strong organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Strong technical aptitude, particularly in the development of Excel spreadsheets.
• Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
• Good work ethic and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the monthly financial closing process.
• Employee expense reports compliance audits.
• Purchases made without a PO compliance audits.
• Assist with monthly Fixed Asset maintenance.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations for assigned accounts.
• Preparation of monthly journal entries.
• Prepare sales tax returns under the guidance of the Sr. Accountant.
• Assist with obtaining Sales Tax Exemption Certificates from customers.
