About The Position

Cleveland Metroparks is seeking an Accounting Intern to support our Finance Department in auditing revenue operations, gathering and analyzing financial data, and assisting with administrative audit and accounting functions. This internship offers hands-on experience in financial operations while contributing to the improvement of park services and operations. As part of our Summer Internship Cohort, you will also: Collaborate on a departmental project with fellow staff. Participate in career development activities designed to strengthen your professional skills. Enjoy opportunities to network with other interns and staff, building connections that last beyond the summer.

Requirements

• Actively enrolled in a college or university program working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related discipline.
• Valid driver’s license under the laws of the State of Ohio.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively.
• High degree of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees, stakeholders, and the public.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with initiative, as well as cooperatively within a team.
• Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Finance Department with data entry and administrative tasks related to internal audit, annual budget, and accounting functions.
• Perform internal audits of park finances and operations.
• Analyze financial data and prepare reports summarizing findings.
• Create electronic work papers documenting audit procedures and results.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance; flexible scheduling may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
