About The Position

Provide collaborative support for the Department. Take part in the support of various projects within Financial Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Capital Planning & Analysis, and Investment Accounting areas. Work in a positive, professional and collaborative fashion with employees at all levels across the organization.Internship Information: Our Internship program is designed to give students experience with projects and performing tasks within their hired work area. You will be exposed to other areas within the organization by participating in development, culture and volunteer events. This paid internship is 8-10 weeks in length with the possibility of extending hours into the school year. Our internship program holds an 80/10/10 approach, meaning that 80% of your work time will involve performing tasks or working on projects within your hired work area. Another 10% of the time, you will be exposed to learning in other areas within your assigned division to get more corporate experience. Then, the final 10% will be spent in shared experiences across the organization, where you will get to really learn about our culture and work environment.

Requirements

  • Individuals pursuing their bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics or similar field Preferred
  • A basic understanding of insurance Preferred
  • High level of accounting ability, including a good working knowledge of finance, economics, investments, insurance and statistics
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with spreadsheets
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work on a team independently

Nice To Haves

  • Bloomberg Terminal experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the team by assisting with projects and duties to advance the department goals.
  • Complete special accounting and analysis projects as needed using multiple financial systems and applications (i.e. SAP, Prophix, Workiva).
  • Assist with preparation of internal and external reports.
  • Maintain effective, positive and collaborative relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Assist with maintaining and improving existing internal controls.
