About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our Accounting team at our Milan, IL location. This 12-week paid internship is designed for students or recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience in accounting operations within a consumer products company. The intern will work closely with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams to learn real-world accounting processes while building a strong professional foundation. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • Strong interest in corporate accounting and financial operations
  • Internship, coursework, or related experience preferred but not required
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles through coursework
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a professional environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to take initiative
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and reliability

Responsibilities

  • Assist with reviewing, processing, and posting customer payments including checks and ACH transactions
  • Support monthly customer statement preparation and AR processes
  • Assist with processing inventory, freight, and operational expense invoices
  • Learn and support purchasing and receiving workflows
  • Participate in month-end close activities, including report preparation and journal entry support
  • Assist with general ledger reconciliations and financial reporting processes
  • Support daily cash reporting and bank reconciliation activities
  • Work with inventory specialists to identify ERP variances and assist with test counts
  • Participate in special accounting projects such as ERP integrations, fixed asset audits, sales tax compliance, and vendor documentation
  • Maintain organized electronic records and documentation
  • Collaborate with accounting and cross-functional teams on daily operational tasks
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
