About The Position

The Accounting Intern position at Hubbell Incorporated is part of the Summer Internship Program, designed for students to gain corporate experience and learn about various aspects of the business. This 10 to 12-week program provides opportunities to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings, develop technical skills, and build professional relationships within the company.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of accounting and finance principles.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support experienced Finance/Accounting teams in performance of assignments.
• Shadow operations to gain insights into day-to-day activities.
• Review current program activities and recommend changes or improvements.
• Apply knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls.
• Work alongside staff accountants to learn practical applications of accounting principles.
• Perform account analysis, prepare journal entries, and reconcile accounts.
• Participate in special projects such as SAP conversion and operational evaluations.
