The 1916 Company is seeking a Part-Time Accounting Intern to join our fast-paced Accounting/Finance Department. This position offers a unique opportunity for candidates currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. The intern will work between 16 to 25 hours a week, with a requirement to be in the office at least two days a week. Additional hours may be available depending on workload and individual availability. This role is designed to provide practical exposure to various accounting functions and processes, allowing the intern to develop their skills and knowledge in the field of accounting. As an Accounting Intern, you will be responsible for preparing and posting accurate journal entries in NetSuite, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. You will also assist in the reconciliation of accounts, resolve discrepancies, and enter bills for accounts payable. The intern will play a crucial role in the month-end processes by helping to prepare and update schedules, support the team in closing the books, and prepare financial reports. Daily tasks will include bank reconciliations and cash reconciliations, as well as general accounting support, which encompasses accounts payable and receivable tasks. In addition to these responsibilities, the intern will participate in audits by providing necessary documentation and support. The role may also involve performing ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed, attending team meetings, and participating in training sessions. Administrative duties may be assigned as required, providing a well-rounded experience in the accounting field.
