About The Position

Revelyst is a collective of makers who design and manufacture performance gear and precision technologies. Our category-defining brands leverage meticulous craftsmanship and cross-collaboration to pursue innovation and redefine what is humanly possible in the outdoors. The Director of Accounting manages the general accounting team and is responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and relevant and financial information accross all Revelyst’s brands. This role plays a key part in driving process improvement and advnancing accouting systems and infrastructure. The Director of Accounting partners closely with sales, business unit leadership, corporate functions, and the FP&A teams to support the business in planning, forecasting, analysis, reporting and working capital management. This position reporting to the Corporate Controller and is based in our Irvine office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • CPA license, with experience in a national public accounting firm.
  • 10+ years’ experience in accounting, including 5+ years managing a team.
  • Substantial experience in large or mid-cap companies—preferably in consumer products or similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC topics 606 and 842.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Netsuite.
  • Ability to work in a complex organization having multiple business units, brands and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated talent for developing systems and improving processes and a mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Strong work ethic, a sense of urgency and unquestioned integrity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.).
  • Ability to work on site in our Irvine, CA offices at least 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the general accounting and financial close process for all group companies to deliver complete, accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and motivate a high-performing team of staff/senior accountants.
  • Continually work to improve accounting processes and information systems to increase efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
  • Work closely with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, operations and other teams to ensure that all accounting data is complete and accurate.
  • Supervise and review the work of the accounting team.
  • Calculate and review accruals, estimates and judgmental items in accordance with GAAP/IFRS and company policy.
  • Analyze and document the accounting treatment for unusual or non-routine transactions.
  • Maintain effective internal control over financial reporting.
  • Provide accurate and actionable analysis of operating results compared to plan and forecast.
  • Review accounting processes; recommend and implement improvements.
  • Develop and document accounting policies and procedures.
  • Interface with internal and external auditors.
