About The Position

We are a patient-focused healthcare organization committed to excellence in care and service. We value teamwork, professionalism, and growth, and we’re looking for an experienced Accounting Controller to lead our accounting and payroll operations. The Accounting Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s accounting functions, payroll, and HR-related activities. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient payroll and HR operations while fostering a professional and supportive work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Accounting certification (CPA or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience preferred, with advanced knowledge of payroll management, and accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, typing with ten-key, and other computer applications required.
  • Effective oral and written communication in English.
  • Knowledge of basic supervisory functions and ability to manage staff.
  • Understanding of medical office procedures, billing, and collections.
  • Patient-focused approach with knowledge of age-based competencies and psychosocial needs.
  • Ability to work independently and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Professional demeanor, tact, and diplomacy in all interactions.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Accounting certification (CPA or equivalent)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting processes and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Generate payroll, profit-sharing, and other financial reports.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including monitoring bank accounts, cash receipts, and deposits.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and payroll submissions.
  • Monitor time clock activity and correct punch errors.
  • Address payroll concerns promptly and communicate issues to CEO.
  • Assist in HR functions as needed, supporting staff satisfaction and adherence to policies.
  • Lead and mentor staff in a professional and collaborative manner.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture, teamwork, and high-quality customer service.
  • Ensure staff compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards.
