About The Position

The Accounting Consultant position is a contract role focused on providing accounting services for a solar company in the construction industry. The role requires hands-on accounting expertise, particularly in SOX compliance, GAAP accounting, and payroll management. The consultant will oversee various accounting activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for month end close, including booking journal entries
• Monthly inventory reconciliation process
• Review / reconcile account balances
• Assist with regulatory and financial reporting
• Assist with monthly / quarterly tax payments, including sales tax
• Oversee tax and audit preparation to comply with all levels of government reporting requirements
• Assist with the development and implementation of internal control policies and procedures
• Coordinate and assist with the external audit
• Supports and assists with the internal audit function and ongoing SOX compliance requirements
• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned
