Requirements

  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA designation an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of directly related experience in Finance/Accounting.
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry and/or Audit experience would be an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting practices and principles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and analytical skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Sage, SOX, and other ERP software packages.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation an asset.
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry and/or Audit experience would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Management and oversight of daily, month end/quarter end/year end closing procedures across General Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Treasury and Service Revenue Billing team.
  • Support the creation, review and update of supporting SOX narratives and coordinate the SOX testing program.
  • Execute internal control procedures across the Accounting team, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SOX.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as they arise, including preparation and facilitation as required.
  • Foster the development and implementation of new procedures and controls to enhance workflow and accuracy of financial results.
  • Support completion of tax returns and any subsequent tax assessments.
  • Actively participate in process improvement initiatives within the Accounting/Finance department.
  • Perform related duties as assigned including inquiries regarding financial results and reporting.
