About The Position

The Accounting Clerk position at our organization is a full-time role focused on providing essential administrative and clerical support to the Accounting Team and various departments. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented and have a passion for numbers. Under the guidance of the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Clerk will assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, maintain records, and support the collections process, contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounting operations.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years accounting experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to learn EDI and Microsoft Business Central (inventory management software).
  • Experience operating various office equipment (calculator, fax machine, photocopier, telephone, and computer).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform AP/AR data entry and assist in the collections process.
  • Support the commercial collections process and assist Accounting Coordinators with Home Center Customer collections.
  • Organize and maintain customer credits and manage filing systems, including year-end file changes.
  • Maintain electronic and paper records for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
  • Assist with small projects and monthly cycle count observations as time permits.
  • Set up, maintain, retrieve, and purge files according to established records retention regulations.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
