About The Position

The position involves processing a variety of accounting transactions, including invoices, payments, and expenses, in accordance with departmental procedures. The incumbent will maintain accounting files, check and verify accounting data, enter data into the computerized accounting system, and use the system to research questions and generate reports. Additionally, the role includes performing general clerical duties related to accounting.

Requirements

  • Two years of accounting and/or related experience
  • Strong computer skills utilizing Excel, Payroll software, e.g., Paycom, and accounting software
  • Knowledge of accounting, including but not limited to accounts payable and receivables, payroll, general ledger, budgeting, and auditing in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Effective communication skills to support employees
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Must fulfill all requirements of employment, including clearance of all required background records (e.g. Department of Justice, Child Abuse, California Community Care Licensing, County Sanction List, etc.), professional, physical examination, and drug testing

Responsibilities

  • Processes accounts payable/accounts receivable, including following through on delinquent accounts
  • Manages petty cash, including reconciliation and ensuring appropriate amounts are maintained at all times
  • Performs account reconciliation, including client billing and statements (e.g. medical, workers comp, etc.)
  • Inputs data and conducts research in a computerized accounting system and generates reports
  • Compiles and calculates data and prepares ad hoc reports as needed
  • Performs other reasonable, related duties as assigned
