About the position

The Accounting Clerk position is essential for managing daily financial transactions and ensuring the accuracy of accounting processes within the company. The role involves maintaining financial records, preparing reports, processing invoices, and performing reconciliations, all of which support the company's financial operations and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Process daily financial transactions, including journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure accuracy.
  • Manage and process vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Prepare basic financial reports, such as account summaries and transaction logs, for management review.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to gather financial data for bid preparation, assisting in cost estimates and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to established accounting policies and assist with process improvements to enhance department efficiency.
  • Provide additional support to the accounting team as needed, including handling inquiries and assisting with audits.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
