About The Position

Hood Industries, Inc. is a blend of wood manufacturing and distribution concerns that include plywood and lumber manufacturing plants, and twenty-four specialty wood product distribution operations, located in eighteen states serving the northeast, southeast and southwest United States. If you are a high performing administrative professional with a detail-oriented personality, our position as a Accounting Clerk within the Plywood Division in Beaumont, MS is right for you. This position is responsible for being a cross-functional member of the mill team while managing multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Run and submit weekly payroll.
  • Maintain daily tasks with regard to payroll (i.e, payroll deductions, 401(k) loan deductions, garnishments, child supports etc.).
  • Answer employee questions concerning payroll issues.
  • Perform employment verifications.
  • Enter all new hire employees into various software systems.
  • Enter all benefits elected in the appropriate websites.
  • Responsible for sending out new hire COBRA notices.
  • Maintain organized employee personnel files.
  • Activate time cards at initial hire and if defective or lost.
  • Enter mill production into company software daily.
  • Enter mill by-product information (chips, shavings) into company software and/or Excel spreadsheets daily.
  • Enter log purchase contracts into company software daily.
  • File various documents such as bill of ladings.
  • Collect and disburse office mail appropriately.
  • Order mill office supplies.
  • Assist in other departments as necessary (Purchasing, Human Resources, Quality, Production, etc.).
  • Help out with special projects as necessary.
  • Some day-travel required.
