About The Position

You’ll be responsible for performing payroll services and assisting with other accounting functions in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of varied and responsible accounting or payroll experience required.
  • Must successfully complete required preservice training.
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Nice To Haves

  • Academic training in bookkeeping, accounting or payroll desired.
  • Experience with automated accounting and payroll systems or programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for end-to-end payroll processing bi-weekly following prescribed step by step processes.
  • Maintain payroll and leave administration systems including verification of available leave balances.
  • Coordinate with staff and management on payroll related queries and issues.
  • Calculate and process final checks, pay changes and increases, and levies and garnishments.
  • Responsible for obtaining payroll acknowledgements signed by supervisors and employees. Log and track receipt and/or missing forms.
  • Maintenance of all payroll records including archiving and filing.
  • Verify and process time adjustments.
  • Assist with making bank deposits including driving to the bank.
  • Process invoice and payments to designated subcontractors.
  • Perform miscellaneous clerical duties involving typing, filing, accumulating data and preparation of repetitive reports.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
  • Maintain accountability of detainees and property; adhere to safety practices.
  • It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
