About The Position

The Accounting Associate will support the Accounting team by maintaining customer files, processing transactions, preparing invoices, making General Ledger entries, and participating in month-end and annual close activities. This part-time role requires knowledge of GAAP and proficiency in Excel, along with strong communication and time management skills.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an Accounting program or a degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
• Available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
• Good judgment and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of various tax reporting requirements.
• Maintain customer files, including all accounting and legal documents.
• Research and analyze problem invoices and follow up on inquiries.
• Contribute to monthly close and annual audits.
• Make entries to general ledger accounting system.
• Perform all work in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Assist in the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
• Perform various administrative tasks such as scanning and mailing as needed.
• Cross-train with other members of the Accounting team to provide backup coverage and for career development purposes.
• Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
