What Will the Accounting Assistant Do? : Reporting to the Disbursement Supervisor, the Accounting Assistant will scan and mail checks, manage pdf files (rename/combine/file), write physical checks, create mailing labels, manage spreadsheet for client Truelink cards, order Truelink cards, send out new Truelink cards via FedEx, schedule uploads, assist with client purchases, process and document online client payments, and provide back-up support to the front desk receptionist as needed. The Accounting Assistant works with the Disbursement Supervisor to ensure accurate, timely, and policy-compliant payment execution for clients while maintaining strong internal controls and excellent client service standards. This full-time position is onsite in our Lutherville office. A Typical Day May Look Like This… : Scan and mail checks Manage PDF files Process physical checks for disbursement to clients Create and update mailing lists Coordinate the Truelink card program for clients Assist with client purchases Process and document online client payments Assure payment records and logs are up-to-date and assist with the preparation and submission of documentation for internal and external audits. Support process improvement initiatives related to payment workflows, automation, error prevention, and efficiency. Crosstrain and provide backup support for other administrative and finance functions as needed. Requirements

  • 1+ year of data management experience
  • 1+ years of accounting experience (preferably in Accounts Payable)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, especially in reviewing financial and payment documents
