Insurance Carriers and Related Activities

The purpose of this role is to support financial operations by processing, analysing, and reporting on transactions, and preparing reports on a regular and ad-hoc basis. Additionally, the role involves handling basic aspects of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting and office duties, as well as contributing to cash management activities and maintaining accurate financial data for internal stakeholders.

  • Ensure all processes are documented in a standard format and maintained in an accessible fashion.
  • Maintain up-to-date training and knowledge, including mainframe applications and general insurance accounting.
  • Establish and maintain efficient relationships between Finance and Business Unit Finance staff.
  • Process basic functions related to Accounts Payable, Cash Management, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting duties accurately and timely.
  • Assist with month-end accounting procedures and production of reports as required.
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements, company policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records, reports, and accounts.
  • Resolve stakeholder requests and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Support internal and external audits effectively.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment and team performance.
  • Relevant work experience (recent graduates would be considered).
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience within the insurance sector and/or banking industry with billing responsibilities.
  • Experience working in a Shared Service background.
  • Two years of administrative office responsibilities
  • Current or pending certifications as an accountant.
