About The Position

Tokio Marine HCC, a global power in the specialty insurance industry, is seeking an Accounting Assistant III with a passion for organization, problem solving, mindfulness, and a drive to learn and grow with a world leading company in a unique industry. Position Summary Performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting activities such as maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports, and accounts payable or receivable functions.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School or GED
  • 5 Years Relevant and progressive professional experience in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Possess and have ability to apply knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Advanced organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package

Responsibilities

  • Verify and post details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed and total accounts to ledgers, computer spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Prepare vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records and review for accuracy.
  • Code data and input into financial data processing systems according to company procedures.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts with various registers and may perform bank reconciliations.
  • Extract and analyze general ledger information for use in analysis and reports.
  • Research and respond to both internal and external customers regarding inquiries and resolve issues and discrepancies.
  • Provide ad hoc information and data analysis as requested to support both current work and special projects.
  • Recommend solutions to process or service obstacles and contribute to ongoing process improvement.
  • Perform other general clerical duties such as filing, copying, typing, answering phones, and operating departmental office equipment.
