SUMMARY: The Accounting Assistant collaborates with the General Accounting, Accounts Payable and Payroll staff across Riverside Medical Clinic, Inc., Riverside Medical Clinic Patient Services and RMCPS Ambulatory Surgery centers to perform general functions in accordance with current accepted accounting principles. Duties to include help with month end closing, general ledger reconciliation, preparation and posting of daily cash receipts and special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile patient and non-patient daily cash received by the Accounting Department.
  • Ensure that cash handling policy is followed when preparing daily cash deposits.
  • Post daily miscellaneous cash and month-end journal entries.
  • Timely preparation of journal entries as assigned using checklists and standard journal entries to ensure all activity is properly recorded.
  • Maintain, track and reconcile RMCI Auto Business Expenses process monthly.
  • Prepares daily and weekly statistical/financial reports for dissemination to senior management.
  • Backs up critical functions in the department and performs all duties as assigned.
  • Assists Payroll in the processing of bi-weekly payroll including garnishment payments.
  • Prepare month-end accrual journal entries.
  • Responsible for processing patient refunds and vendors.
  • Provides administrative support to Accounting department as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited College or University in related field preferred.
  • Minimum One (1) year of Accounting and/or Business Office experience required.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
