About The Position

Solarity Credit Union is seeking a full-time Accounting Analyst to join our Accounting team at our Yakima headquarters. Solarity's Accounting Analyst will exercise a high level of professional judgment, discretion, and analytical expertise in the interpretation, development, and communication of complex financial data and accounting information. Provide expert guidance on accounting matters, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements. Develop, implement, and continuously refine effective departmental strategies, accounting policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen internal controls. Perform complex accounting functions with precision, ensuring full compliance with GAAP and the integrity of financial reporting and analysis. Foster strong relationships and maintain seamless communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners to support organizational goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Related progressive experience in a financial institution highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred and 4-5 years of accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Team first philosophy.
  • Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze accounting processes and workflows, providing data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Prepare and provide accurate and timely reports for investors and state and federal agencies, including but not limited to participation loan statements, state tax and personal property reports, and federal tax reports.
  • Collaborate with management during audits as a lead contributor to fulfill audit requests timely and analyze and implement findings.
  • Maintain accuracy of the General Ledger by preparing journal entries and effective account reconciliations in compliance with GAAP.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and informal mentorship to junior accounting staff.
