About The Position

Sodexo has an opening for an Accounting Analyst (Balance Sheet) to join our team. This position assists in the maintenance of accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organization's assets. Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports. This is a hybrid position, requires 3 days in office at our Cheektowaga, NY location. Compensation is fair and equitable, partially determined by a candidate's education level or years of relevant experience. Salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education, and training. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting (preferred)
  • Minimum 2-4 years related accounting experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Must have a high degree of initiative
  • Demonstrated knowledge of large accounting systems, SAP preferred
  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines
  • Willing to put in necessary time to complete tasks
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years

Responsibilities

  • Support oversight of NORAM Balance Sheet ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Financial reporting and analysis for NORAM Balance Sheet variances
  • Payroll accounting support for US
  • Partner with Segment Support and Financial Planning & Analysis with monthly SAP Financial Close process
  • Account Reconciliation preparation, approvals and support
  • Internal and external audits; recommend corrective actions, and ensure compliance.
  • Support SharePoint Site
  • Participate in projects impacting the balance sheet, including system analysis, testing and process improvements
  • Work within team environment with 4 on shore and 9 offshore
  • Provide customer support and technical accounting guidance to all Business areas throughout the Finance organization
