About The Position

Sodexo has a new opening for an Accounting Analyst - Segment Support Canada to join our Financial Shared Services Center located in Cheektowaga, NY which handles the accounting for our North American Operations. This is a hybrid position, requiring 3 days in office. The successful candidate will provide reconciliation and analysis of client accounts to ensure contract compliance and reduce risk. Supports Finance operations, and the financial close process, while delivering service to internal and external customers. Within the center there are many departments and positions so there's opportunities for growth & advancement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Ability to perform and maintain core responsibilities / accountabilities while simultaneously involved in other department initiatives
• Strong contract interpretation skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• SAP, Excel & related software experience
• Previous training experience highly desired

Responsibilities

• Interprets client contracts/amendments & applies objective accounting treatment & company policy to ensure proper setup in SAP to produce accurate financial reporting & billing
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of accounting principles and how they are incorporated into the company's policies, procedures, and contracts to ensure accurate accounting system setup
• Applies contractual price increases to client billing and collaborates with finance personnel to support management reporting
• Maintains company databases to support various reporting requirements and analyses
• Supports the monthly financial close process
• Prepares routine & ad-hoc reports
• Provides first level escalation to department Accountants
• Provides support and training for broader processes, projects & initiatives
